Chess Grandmaster Alexandra Kosteniuk gave a Goodwill simul in a school in Iki-Chonos, near Elista, Kalmykia, Russia

These photos were taken on May 26, 2004, in Iki-Chonos, near Elista (Kalmykia, Russia) just after the 2004 Women World Chess Championships. Alexandra had already been at this same school 3 years ago and had given to the school 2 computers with chess programs to teach children to play chess

Alexandra gave a small simul to the chessplaying pupils of the school The simul took place in a very nice Kalmyk schoolroom

After the simul, Alexandra gave out prizes to the chess players and other gifts (pens and chess puzzles) to every student in the school Alexandra speaks to the whole school about the virtues of chess!
